Reverend Elijah Gipson-Davis,
Minister of Administration

The Rev. Elijah Gipson-Davis, a native of Riverdale, Georgia, was ordained into the Gospel ministry at the New Macedonia Baptist Church. An anointed preacher, talented scholar, and skilled administrator, he currently serves as the Minister of Administration and Assistant to the Pastor at the Myrtle Baptist Church of West Newton, Massachusetts.

Rev. Elijah is a Master of Divinity candidate at Harvard University and the Vice President of Harambee: Harvard Divinity School Students of African Descent. He is also a William & Lucille Nickerson Fellow, Northern Baptist Education Society Scholar, and American Baptist Home Mission Society Scholar.

In addition, Rev. Elijah earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Religion with a minor in Leadership Studies from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Morehouse College, Rev. Elijah held the role of Executive Secretary of the Martin Luther King Jr. Chapel Assistants Program under Dean Lawrence Carter, Sr. and Chaplain of the 91st Student Government Association.

Rev. Elijah shares academic interests in religion, specifically African American and North American religious history, gender and sexuality, congregational studies, Christian education, and liturgics.

Rev. Elijah lives by the simple motto, “Love da’ Lord and treat people right.”
